چکیده

Air pollution is a global environmental issue, and there an urgent need for sustainable remediation techniques. Thus, phytoremediation has become popular approach to air remediation. This paper reviewed 28 eco-friendly indigenous plants based on both the tolerance index (APTI) anticipated performance (API), using level indices evaluate potential of most plant species control. The estimated APTI ranged from 4.79 (Syzygium malaccense) 31.75 (Psidium guajava) among studied plants. One selected tolerant, seven (7) are intermediate with their in following order: Psidium guajava (31.75) > Swietenia mahogany (28.08) Mangifera indica L. (27.97) Ficus infectoria (23.93) religiosa (21.62) Zizyphus Oenoplia Mill (20.06) Azadirachta A. Juss. (19.01) benghalensis (18.65). Additionally, API value indicated that ranges best good performer; excellent moderate performers; Cassia fistula poor very performer Pearson correlation shows positive between (R2 = 0.63), this implies increase increases vice versa. L., have reduction long-term management green ecomanagement development.

A comparative study for air pollution tolerance index of some terrestrial plant species

Although water and land pollution are very dangerous, air pollution has its own peculiarities due to its transboundary dispersion of pollutants over the entire world. In any well planned urban set up, industrial pollution takes a back seat and vehicular emissions take precedence as the major cause of urban air pollution. In the present study, Air pollution tolerance index was calculated for var...

A Comparative Study of Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) of Some Fruit Plant Species Growing in the Industrial Area of Sfax, Tunisia

Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) is an important tool to screen out plants, based on their tolerance or sensitivity level to different air pollutants. The present study has been conducted to evaluate APTI of four different plant species around polluted and unpolluted industrial site in Sfax, Tunisia. In order to determine the susceptibility level of the selected plant species, it has used f...
